Birthday Beauty

It's my Sister-in-law's birthday in a few days, and I love to do something extra special for her birthday card simply because she's one of the finest women I know - kind, beautiful and accomplished. Here's what I've created for her this year.

The base of the card is Stardream metallic cardstock in a creamy color, cut at 5 3/4" square. A dark green layer at 5 1/2" square is attached to the base. Then three panels of yellow/green cardstock at 5 1/4 x 1 5/8" are added, followed by panels of designer paper from K&Company cut at 5 x 1 1/2".

Shabby Shutters Distress Ink was sponged lightly on to a piece of watercolor paper.  Heartfelt Creations Wildflower was stamped on top in Barn Door Distress Ink, and the watercolor paper was set aside to dry. When it was smudge-proof, Copics were used to add more color to the flower. Colors used were: R20, R21, R22, R24 along with YG00 and YG01. Small dots of Martha Stewart glitter finish off the centre of the flower.

A circle of the yellow/green was cut using a Heartfelt Creations die from their Artistic Gatefold collection. A greeting from Heartfelt Creations was added to a Spellbinders tag.

Hope she loves it!
