Featuring Heartfelt Creations

While I didn't make the final cut to gain a spot on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team, I'm very proud of the projects I submitted for consideration. Here are directions for how you can create the gift box. Photos of the cards inside follow. My next blog will feature the remainder of the DT projects.

Gift Box Instructions:

  1. From black cardstock, cut 11 inch square;
  2. Score at 1/2, 2  1/2, 8 1/2 and 10 1/2 inches;
  3. Turn paper 90 degrees, and score at 4 and 6 inches;
  4. Flip paper so other side is showing and fold in on all score lines;
  5. Trim 1/2 sides from front and sides of box. Cut between bottom of Front/Back and side panels;
  6. Stamp Wildflowers randomly on back, front and side panels with VersaMark and heat emboss;
  7. From hay cardstock, cut small square window. Score on outside edges of doors to enable easy opening. Adhere small Parisian Motifs cutouts from black cardstock for door handles;
  8. Stamp sentiment on vanilla cardstock with VersaFine and heat emboss;
  9. Lay window over scene. Trace outside of square window frame onto blending card with pencil. Trim scene just inside pencil marks and adhere to back of frame;
  10. Adhere window to font of box.
  11. Apply adhesive to bottom side panels;
  12. Stand up back of box, folding in 1/2 inch panels. Stand up Bottom Side panels and hold firmly to adhere;
  13. Apply adhesive to Front Side Panels. Stand up front of box, fold side panels to back, and hold firmly to adhere;
  14. Decorate lower edge of front and sides by dotting Liquid Pearls every half inch, and dotting centre of flowers;
  15. Add dots of glue and glitter to window scrolls.

  1. From flocked paper, cut rectangle 10 1/8 x 6 1/8 inch;
  2. Lay paper face-down on Scor-Pal with long edge horizontal. Score at 2” from either end, leaving 6 1/8 inches for the middle panel (which will be the Top of the Lid);
  3. Flip paper 90 degrees, and again score 2” from either end, leaving 2 1/8 inch for middle panel;
  4. Ensure good side of paper is on the bottom and fold in on all score lines;
  5. Cut between Front/Back and Top side panels;
  6. Apply adhesive to one Top side panel. Stand up back of lid and fold its side flap in. Bring up side panel of Top and hold to adhere. Repeat on other side;
  7. To add to the strength of the bottom of the lid, adhere a 1/4 ribbon around the box, joining the ribbon on the front about 2 inches in from the left side. Dot every half inch with Liquid Pearls;
  8. Stamp the three smallest wildflowers with VersaFine on vanilla cardstock. Allow to dry completely. Cut out and emboss with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. Shape flowers, layer and attach with small brad. Finish with random hits of glue and glitter;
  9. Apply a small strip of Scor-Tape to back of flower. Wind gold thread around closed stamp pad a few times, gently slide off, twist once in the middle and press onto back of flower;
  10. Apply a small strip of Scor-Tape to the box front, just over where the ribbon joined. Fold additional ribbon into bow shape and press into adhesive. Top with flower.
