Poinsettia Tri-Color

My creative mojo has been hiding this last month while I nursed my cat through a severe reaction to her annual vaccination. But, after weeks of intensive care, it looks like she's on the mend and my thoughts are more often returning to my craft room. Good thing cause Christmas is approaching - it's already mid-October! This card features three of my very favorite things: Heartfelt Creations stamps, Distress Inks and Spellbinders. Here's how this card came together....

Stardream Metallic Cardstock
Heartfelt Creations HCPC 2291 Regal Poinsettia 2 Precut Stamp Set
Watercolor Paper
VersaMark Ink
Silver Heat Embossing Powder
Distress Ink Set Winter 2011
Water Brush
Judikins Diamond Glaze
Red Foil
Spellbinders Die Templates, Labels 4
Scor-Pal scoring tool
Pop Dots
Fancy Button
Silver Braid

  1. Cut silver cardstock to 7 1/4  x 10 1/2 inches and score to create 5 1/4 x 7 1/4  inch card;
  2. Cut green cardstock to 5 x7  inch;
  3. With Scor-Pal, score green cardstock diagonally, every inch, turn 180 degrees and repeat scoring;
  4. Cut red foil with die and cut in half horizontally;
  5. Adhere foil to green leaving a 1/4 inch gap;
  6. Adhere silver braid to green, wrapping ends to back;
  7. Adhere green to silver;
  8. Cut piece of watercolor paper larger than die. Sponge Distress Inks, graduating each color into the next. Allow to dry;
  9. Stamp Poinsettia with VersaMark and heat emboss with silver;
  10. Place die as desired and cut;
  11. Using Waterbrush and Red Distress Ink, color in flower centre. When dry, adhere crystals and float with Diamond Glaze. Adhere over red foil;
  12. Adhere crystals to background, at each place where lines cross;
  13. Cut fancy shape with any Spellbinders die and top with fancy button.
